Babylon x NYC Exhibition
• Babylon – a Web3 gallery – is hosting an exhibition of physical and digital artworks in New York City on April 12-13, 2023.
• The exhibition will showcase works by the project’s 30 Founding Artists, plus exclusive works by Armenian artist Tigran Tsitoghdzyan and Babylon founder Paruyr Shahbazyan’s personal collection.
• Tickets for the public exhibition are available here, and media representatives can enquire about attending the private opening night event via email.
Founding Artists
Babylon’s Founding Artists include mainstream creators like Rik Oostenbroek, Archan Nair, and Terrell Jones. These artists have worked with well-known companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Apple, Nike, Rolling Stone, Vogue, and Sotheby’s.
Shahbazyan’s Ikigai
Babylon is a passion project of founder Shahbazyan — dubbed his ‘ikigai’ — which means ‘your reason for being’. He is considered one of the largest independent NFT collectors with an estimated collection worth around 4,000 ETH. His collection includes rare pieces such as 3D Glass Hoodie Punk, Spiral Fidenza and Red Ringer.
New Sales Mechanisms
The emergence of NFTs has offered an opportunity to change and democratize the art world as much as printmaking did in the 18th century. Babylon intends to become the home of NFT Editions through introducing new sales mechanisms based around editions that are fairly distributed and open for all.
